HP expands its ConvergedSystem portfolio for SAP HANA platform in India

NEW DELHI: Technology giant Hewlett-Packard today announced the expansion of its ConvergedSystem portfolio for SAP HANA platform in India, which will help clients manage and analyse large and diverse data sets from a single system to facilitate real-time business decisions. Besides, the system's configurations and availability will enable clients consolidate mission-critical business apps to a centralised platform, thereby helping them reduce costs and simplify the IT environment.

"HP ConvergedSystem 900 for SAP HANA is certified by SAP to deliver up to 12 terabytes (TB) of data in a single memory pool to power mission critical business applications," HP India Director (Servers) Vikram K told PTI.

Business critical applications like those for enterprise resource planning, supply chain and customer relationship management are vital to business operations and require highly scalable infrastructure that can ensure up to 100 per cent uptime, he added.

Besides, it also reduces downtime with HP Serviceguard for SAP HANA, which provides high availability and disaster tolerant features for enterprise data protection, Vikram said.

"HP ConvergedSystem 900 for SAP HANA is designed to deliver a rapid return on investment. It is preconfigured, optimised and tested by HP Factory Express, enabling clients to order, install and operate the system in as little as 30 days," he added. The verticals driving server growth for the firm in India include manufacturing, telecom, public sector, education and research, IT and ITES.

Globally, HP has shipped over 30 million servers. HP is a market leader in x86 servers in India. According to IDC, HP India controlled 35.5 per cent market share in the x86 server market in January-March 2014
