BPO major Genpact on Monday said it has opened a new centre in Brazil, its first location in South America.

NEW DELHI: BPO major Genpact on Monday said it has opened a new centre in Brazil, its first location in South America, to establish its business operations for the burgeoning Brazilian market.

Located in Sao Paulo, the centre will provide services for Astra Zeneca as well as additional global corporations for their Brazilian businesses, Genpact said in a statement.

The centre will also help the company establish business operations for the growing Brazil-to-Brazil market, it added.

Genpact will provide finance and accounting (F&A) services to Astra Zeneca from the center, as well as IT services to a financial services client.

"Genpact's expansion into Brazil is in line with our growth strategy to bring our global business practices and expertise to rapidly growing emerging economies to serve global corporations expanding there as well as local growth companies," Genpact President and CEO NV Tyagarajan said.

Genpact's legal entity in Brazil is named Genpact Brasil Gestão de Processos Operacionais Ltda. Genpact has existing Latin America services delivery operations in Mexico and Guatemala.
