General Elections 2014: TCS, Twitter launch social insight app
NEW DELHI: Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest software company, has joined hands with Twitter India to roll out a social media insight application, iElect, to tap the huge interest surrounding the ongoing general elections.

The app harnesses the power of social media, big data, analytics and mobility to bring out relevant results, which users can access on a real-time basis, the two companies said in a joint statement.

They claim that the app analyses poll issues people associate with politicians. It also captures association of top politicians with other celebrities, besides highlighting viral tweets.

“The app has opened up a unique engagement opportunity with Twitter content for our users,” Twitter India Market Director Rishi Jaitly said.

The application analyses tweets and generates social insights and trends about the ongoing General Elections 2014.

According to TCS, the application has so far analyzed more than 3 million tweets to gauge people’s sentiment to all top politicians, parties and issues.
