freephoo to charge Rs 4.50/min for global phone calls

NEW DELHI: Sweden-based application company freephoo today said it will charge $ 0.089 (Rs 4.47 approximately) per minute for making calls anywhere in the world on both fixed line and mobile phones.

"freephoo allows free calls among freephoo users anywhere in the world. In case freephoo user wants to make call to non-freephoo user he can do so by buying 100 minutes pack from Apple or Android application store for $ 8.9 and make calls," Co-founder at freephoo Pandelis Eliopoulos told PTI.

freephoo application allows users to make free calls from their iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Android-based phones using the WiFi or 3G network to another freephoo user.

He added that paid calls from freephoo can be made on both fixed line and mobile phones.

"User will be charged on per second basis and $ 8.9 is all what an user will have to pay for 100 minutes. These rates will be automatically converted in to the respective in Indian Rupee based on it value against dollar," Pandelis said.

Pandelis said freephoo is currently available for Apple and Android users, but the company is looking at expanding its services to other mobile phones as well.

"We have provided facility to our users to call their friends on social media network like Facebook and LinkedIn contacts too," Pandelis said.
