With e-learning catching up in rural India, Educomp Solutions, country's largest education technology firm, intends to increase its presence in government schools from its existing reach in 6,000 schools.

PANAJI: With e-learning catching up in rural India, Educomp Solutions, country's largest education technology firm, intends to increase its presence in government schools from its existing reach in 6,000 schools.

"Every year, acceptance of e-learning is increasing in India. We have public-private partnership in 6,000 government schools across the country besides around 1,000 private schools," Educomp Solutions President ICT Soumya Kanti said.

The PPP projects have been undertaken with governments of Assam, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Gujarat and West Bengal, Kanti said.

Gujarat government is the largest beneficiary of this e-education boom as around 3,300 schools have already introduced the learning modules, the official said.

"We provide information technology infrastructure, faculty, multi-media content and training for the teachers."

With an employee base of over 3,000 professionals, Educomp currently serves over 4 million learners and educators across India, USA and Singapore. Educomp has 11 offices in India, one each in the US, Canada, Sri Lanka and Singapore. The company has presence in over 57 locations for different programmes.

The firm actively works with around ten states including Karnataka, Jharkhand, Orissa, Tripura, Assam and Delhi.
