Dwarkanhalli was leading the over-a-billion dollar Salesforce business at Cognizant and handling a team of nearly 14,000 employees. A company spokesperson confirmed Dwarkanhalli’s appointment and told ET that he would report to Wipro’s chief operating officer Bhanumurthy B.
Wipro recently promoted a few senior leaders and elevated CFO Jatin Dalal as president. These promotions have been given at a time when CEO Abidali Neemuchwala is trying to shift to digital faster and drive higher growth.
The $8.5 billion tech services company has rekindled its focus on four key areas — Digital, Cloud, Engineering Services and Cyber Security — to drive the next phase of growth as its customers globally are seeking digital technology-led services to bring efficiency.
Neemuchwala had recently told ET that the company has started selling digital technology-based services to existing and new customers across business verticals. The company has been betting big on cloud platforms for enterprises given the faster growth in digital.
