NEW DELHI: Chumbak, a retail company known for its quirky designs of apparels, accessories and home décor products, has chosen IBM cloud to run and host its enterprise resource planning applications. The companies did not disclose the value of the deal.

“Over the last five years, Chumbak has grown over 300% year over year. As we plan to scale our presence both online and offline, we wanted a technology partner who could support us over the next phase of our hyper growth,” said Rajath Kedilaya, CIO of Chumbak.

Chumbak has over 40 outlets in India and large-format flagship stores in six cities. IBM said it has been working with Chumbak for the past six-seven months and it was the support that it offers that stood out for Kedilaya.

In addition to helping Chumbak significantly improve management efficiency of critical data across multiple locations, “...we were able to demonstrate that the performance that we would be giving in terms of the compute was going to be significantly strong. The entire solution that we were offering was robust and technologically strong,” said Vivek Malhotra, Cloud Leader, IBM India/SA.
