Bullets found in techie's baggage

CHENNAI: A passenger bound for Frankfurt was detained at the Chennai airport on Monday morning after two live bullets were found in his hand baggage, police said.

CHENNAI: A passenger bound for Frankfurt was detained at the Chennai airport on Monday morning after two live bullets were found in his hand baggage, police said.

Police and airport sources said the bullets were found during scanning of his baggage. The passenger, a software engineer, was immediately detained for questioning.

The man was bound for Frankfurt by a Lufthansa airlines flight, they said. Police said that during questioning, the passenger told them that the bullets did not belong to him and that he was not aware of how the bullets had found its way into his baggage, which had been left unattended for some time.
