BI, analytic applications, PM software revenue at $40.5 mn

Revenue from business intelligence (BI) platform, analytic applications and performance management softwares in India surged by 58.6 per cent to USD 40.5 million in 2008, Gartner Inc has said.

BANGALORE: Revenue from business intelligence (BI) platform, analytic applications and performance management softwares in India surged by 58.6 per cent to USD 40.5 million in 2008, Gartner Inc has said.

The revenue from the same was USD 25.6 million in 2007. "Industry consolidation has led to an increase in growth, despite the necessary product rationalisation and organisational changes," Bhavish Sood, Principal Research Analyst at Gartner, said in a release.

"The large stack vendors, both application and database vendors have put a lot of focus and sales power behind their newly acquired BI products, with accelerated migrations and upgrades in the installed base as a result," he said.

Following SAP's acquisition of Business Objects, the company was number one vendor in combine India BI, analytics and performance management software revenue in 2008 (USD 12.6 million) capturing 31 per cent.

Both the BI platform and analytic applications and performance management, including corporate performance management, areas performed strongly with growth rates of 61.9 per cent and 53.2 per cent, respectively, he said.
