Bail hearing of B Ramalinga Raju on Jan 27

Hearing on B Ramalinga Raju's and former Chief Financial Officer Srinivas Vadlamani's bail plea will be taken up on January 27 by the district magistrate. The magistrate also postponed Rama Raju's bail order to January 28th. However, the SEBI application seeking Raju's custody for interrogation regarding the Rs 7,000 crore fraud will be heard later this afternoon. The court would also decide whether or not to grant Raju a special status as a prisoner in jail.

Raju, his brother Rama Raju and Srinivas Vadlamani will remain in police custody and will be interrogated until 4pm today. The court heard three applications today -- Raju brothers' bail petition, the Securities and Exchange Board of India's (Sebi) application seeking court's permission to question Ramalinga Raju, and the third about granting the special status to Raju in bail.
