Anant Maheshwari to log in as President at Microsoft India

NEW DELHI: Software major Microsoft has named Anant Maheshwari (in pic), president at Honeywell India, as its next India head. Maheshwari will join Microsoft India as president on September 1 and take over the ope rations of the company from chairman Bhaskar Pramanik from January 1. Pramanik retires in March next year.

Maheshwari "will be responsible for all of Microsoft's product, service, and support offerings across India and continuing the company's transformation into the leading productivity and platform company for the mobile-first, cloud-first era", Microsoft said in a statement on Monday.

Prior to Honeywell India, Maheshwari was with McKinsey & Company for six years where he worked with clients across multiple industries including telecom, IT and ecommerce, private equity, engine ering equipment, automotive, steel, and pharmaceuticals.

"The ambition of a mobile-first, cloud-first world complements India's growth themes of Smart Cities and Digital India," he said in a statement. "I am excited to join the company at this transformational point and support the growth objectives globally and in India."

Maheshwari has an electrical & electronics engineering degree and a master's degree in economics from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani.
