NYSE-listed firm has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held Actix for approximately $120 million in cash.

The NYSE-listed firm has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held Actix for approximately $ 120 million in cash, the company said in a statement.
Founded in 1991, Actix provides solutions that are deployed at over 350 mobile service providers.
The acquisition expands Amdocs' customer experience portfolio into the network domain to manage customer experience across both networks and IT.
Subject to approvals, the deal is expected to be completed by the end of this month, Amdocs added.
With the buyout of the mobile network optimisation solutions provider, Amdocs will expand its Customer Experience Systems portfolio with geo-located network data, it said.
Amdocs, which clocked revenue of USD 3.2 billion in fiscal 2012, has 20,000 employees worldwide.
Using the company's services, telecom operators will be able to offer differentiated customer experience and achieve cost-efficiencies with improved automation and optimisation of their existing networks, the statement said.
"The combination of our assets, spanning network and IT, will offer service providers the most powerful customer experience-driven network optimisation solution available," Amdocs Vice-President (Product and Solutions Marketing) Rebecca Prudhomme said.
