Aircent acquires DataLinx for $30 million

Aricent will absorb the 400 consultants and developers of DataLinx to develop solutions for telecom service providers which will be mostly done in India along with other centres.

NEW DELHI: US-based software company Aricent, which has significant India operations, has acquired DataLinx, a consulting firm in New York, for a value "in the range of $30 million ".

Aricent formerly known as Flextronix Software has a global workforce of 7, 500 out of which 5,000 are in India.

Aricent will absorb the 400 consultants and developers of DataLinx to develop solutions for telecom service providers which will be mostly done in India along with other centres.

"We have entered into an agreement to acquire DataLinx for a value in the range of 30 million dollars," Aricent Executive Vice-President Sanjay Dhawan said.

Aricent which has 350 customers worldwide, including Airtel, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Vodafone, will now be able to deliver full life cycle solutions to wireless, wireline, cable and satellite service providers.

DataLinx is a privately-held company. "Aricent and DataLinx's combined offerings will help service providers drive revenue growth and profitability in a complex landscape of emerging technologies and heightened customer expectations," said Ash Bhardwaj, CEO, Aricent.

The California-based Aricent is owned by leveraged buyout firm KKR, Sequoia Capital and Flextronics International.
