MUMBAI: Mumbai-based software services provider Aftek has tied up with German OEM-manufacturer BDT AG. The German company specialises in data storage systems.

As a part of the agreement, Aftek's 100% German subsidiary Arexera, would license its search technology to BDT for its new data storage device, the Gingcom Appliance. According to the terms, in return for its IP on enterprise search, for each appliance sold by BDT, Aftek would get a royalty 250-300 euros.

“The core focus area for BDT is SMEs and BDT has targeted sales of be-tween 50,000 to 70,000 Gingcom appliances through its own network as well as its OEM partners, during a full year of operation,” Ranjit Dhuru, chairman and managing director, Aftek said. Some of BDT’s clients include IBM, Dell and Xerox. Aftek shares rose 0.14% to Rs 71.60 on the BSE.
