MUMBAI: BPO firm WNS Enterprise Services on Thursday said it will open a delivery centre in Eastern Europe this year besides recruiting more than 5,000 associates.
"We are planning to open a delivery centre in Eastern Europe within this year to cater to the demand in German, Spanish and French languages," WNS Chief Operating Officer Sulakshana Patankar told reporters.
"We had increased our headcount by 40 per cent last year and we hope to maintain the same rate of growth this year too," she said.
The New York Stock Exchange-listed WNS has close to 14,000 associates and nine delivery centres across the country. The company has expertise in industries such as travel, insurance, financial services, logistics, retail and manufacturing.
Patankar was talking to reporters after signing an agreement with the UK-based Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to offer a Financial and Accounting (F&A) training programme to its associates.

CIMA offers an internationally recognised professional qualification in management accountancy with focus on accounting for business."F&A activity was earlier not outsourced from India much. Now, this trend has changed for better. We have clients in the US, the UK, Europe, Canada and Japan," she said.
CIMA and WNS would develop professional programmes for the employees of the latter, including guest lectures and related seminars, she said. CIMA would also offer training to WNS' trainers.
