Wipro Tech expands Chennai operations
Wipro Technologies, the IT services business of Wipro Ltd, on Monday said it was expanding its Chennai operations with a new facility at the Sholinganallur - ELCOT Special Economic Zone.

CHENNAI: Wipro Technologies, the IT services business of Wipro Ltd, on Monday said it was expanding its Chennai operations with a new facility at the Sholinganallur - ELCOT Special Economic Zone.
The facility which was being developed in a phased manner on 80 acres would house about 35,000 seats, Sudip Banerjee, Enterprise Solutions, Wipro Technologies, told a press conference here.
The company currently has 2,500 seats at the facility and expected to increase it by 5,000 to 7,000 this year, he said.
He also said that the company had invested in a 90 acre facility at the Mahindra city SEZ to augment the business growth expected in the next five years.
