MUMBAI: Wipro is contemplating various reward and recognition options for employees, including a time based stock option. Speaking at a a panel discussion at the Nasscom India Leadership Forum on 'Surviving Success', Rishad Premji, chief strategy officer, Wipro, said, "We are experimenting with rewards in the short term and also with time based long term stock options." While at its core Wipro remains a services company, he said they were executing various strategies to identify the future growth areas for the company.

"At our core we are a services company. But who we sell to, what we sell and how we sell is changing," he said. Wipro, like many other companies is working on parallel tracks, trying to balance its existing business and processes while changing in order to not get disrupted.

The company's recent acquisition of a global strategic design firm was a step in that direction. "Acquisitions are not the only way to make this change, but this is one part of executing that," said Premji.

Earlier on in the discussion, Infosys board member Ravi Venkatesan said that the way business was changing world over. "Every company is either a disruptor or a disruptee, and it's better to be the disruptor," he said.
