Wipro CEO T K Kurien among highest-paid IT executives
T K Kurien, the newly-appointed CEO of Wipro, became one of the highest-paid executives with renumeration ranging from Rs 3 crore-Rs 10 crore.
In a filing to BSE, the company on Monday discolsed Kurien's annual salary, including variable pay and periodic increments. Kurien was appointed the CEO, IT Business and Executive Director from February 1 for a period of five years.
Former CEOs of the company, Girish Paranjpe and Suresh Vaswani ,were paid Rs 2.11 crore and Rs 2.96 crore, respectively last year. Earlier this month, IT major Cognizant disclosed its CEO Francisco D'Souza earned roughly Rs 6 crore as salary and bonus in 2010.
Vineet Nayar, MD and CEO of HCL Technologies reportedly earned a total of Rs 4.54 crore in the last financial year while S Gopalakrishnan, CEO of Infosys Technologies earned Rs 1.01 crore.
The highest paid executive at Infosys is Ashok Vemuri, senior VP and global head, banking and capital markets, strategic global sourcing, who has a package of over Rs 4 crore.
