The Bengaluru-headquartered software services exporter brought its employees back from the US, Australia and other countries.
Nearly 80 employees and their family members have been recently brought back on a chartered flight from Australia on Thursday.
“Great to have our employees who were stranded in Australia back in India safe and sound. Thanks to the herculean efforts of our teams @Wipro and to the Gov’t for all their support. Welcome home!,” tweeted Rishad Premji, Chairman, Wipro, this afternoon.
“At Wipro, the paramount concern is the safety, health and well-being of our employees. So far close to 700 employees have been brought back from across the world,” said a Wipro spokesperson.
Early this month, Wipro’s peer Infosys brought back 200 people including employees and their family members on a chartered flight from San Francisco.
Many employees of the Indian IT services industry faced challenges as projects got delayed or cancelled by many clients due to the pandemic.
