Wipro BPO seen scouting for overseas buyout

Is Wipro BPO gearing up for a big one? If sources are to be believed, the company, which is a third-party BPO unit of software major Wipro, is exploring options of acquiring a company overseas.

The sources say the move to scout overseas for a firm stems from the fact that Wipro BPO has a limited presence outside India and also because it’s in line with recent trends.

A Wipro spokesperson said that it is following an acquisition strategy to build competence in complementary areas. “We can’t comment on specific targets or speculative reports,” the spokesperson added.
