Wipro appoints new leaders for business application services, infrastructure business

MUMBAI: Wipro appointed new leaders for its business application services and its global infrastructure business, as the Bangalore-based IT firm begins its reorganization under new CEO Abid Ali Neemuchwala.

In an emailed statement, Wipro said Hiral Chandrana has been appointed as vice president and head of business application services. Chandrana previously served as vice president and vertical head of the company’s consumer products business.

Wipro also said that Kiran Desai had been appointed vice president and head of global infrastructure services. He was previously delivery head for that service line.

The company added that both the appointments would be effective from February 1. Both Chandrana and Desai will report to Bhanumurthy BM, who is taking over as chief operating officer of the company from the start of the next month.

Earlier this month, Wipro appointed Abid Ali Neemuchwala as its CEO, and moved its previous CEO TK Kurien to the role of Vice Chairman.
