Wipro adds more executives to executive committee

BENGALURU: Weeks after orchestrating its biggest organisational reshuffle in the last five years, India's third-largest software exporter Wipro has added recently-promoted executives such as Anil Jain and former TCS executive Ankur Prakash to its executive committee -the company's highest executive decision making body.

Wipro's executive committee now has 17 of the company's top executives on the committee, most of whom report directly to newly minted CEO and former TCS veteran Abidali Z Neemuchwala.

As part of the recent organisational overhaul, Wipro restructured the media and telecom business after the exit of former vertical head Ayan Mukerji and also recently carved out a new business unit called marketing, innovations and technology shortly after Neemuchwala's ascension to the role of CEO.

Following the recent exits of company veterans, Sangita Singh and Mukerji, Wipro has elevated Jain -who was recently appointed as the global head of the communications vertical -and Prakash who was roped in from TCS last year to head the emerging markets business to the executive committee.

Last year, Wipro also elevated Rishad Premji, who heads strategy and Wipro Ventures, to the committee.
