KOLKATA: The West Bengal government has decided to provide a 15-acre plot to IT company Cognizant Technologies Solutions (CTS) in New Town and waive the development fees for it.

State Education and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Partha Chatterjee said a plot of 50-acre was earlier allotted to real estate company Shapoorji Pallonji by WBHIDCO. From that plot, the State government has decided to allot 15 acres to CTS for setting up its third campus in Kolkata.

CTS already has two facilities in the city - one in sector V of Salt Lake and the other in Bantala Leather Complex.

"They will build IT services office there. It will give jobs to around 15,000 to 20,000 people. Therefore, we have decided to waive off the development fees," he said yesterday.
