Vertical-focused strategy to drive NIIT Tech growth

Madan Mohan, now global head-–travel and transportation, at NIIT Tech, previously worked with Infosys. Anurag Chauhan, global head–insurance, and Gautam Samanta, global head–BFS, joined from Accenture and Infosys, respectively.
The mid-tier IT services firm said its transition to specific business verticals boosted by use of emerging technologies in the past few quarters has delivered consistent growth.
“From a strategy perspective, we said we would focus at the intersection of these three verticals and emerging technologies like automation, cloud, to drive transformation.
As part of this overall change for growth programme, (first,) we changed the structure of the organisation, (and) second, we have entrusted very senior leaders from tier-1 firms to run our key businesses,” said Sudhir Singh, chief executive officer, NIIT Technologies.
The IT services company, which clocked a revenue of Rs 2,991 crore in financial year 2017-18, said it achieved nearly 16% growth in the first half of the current fiscal year.
