Vakrangee Software bags contract from Rajasthan govt to set up CSCs

Vakrangee Software has bagged a contract from the government of Rajasthan to set up common service centres (CSCs) in the state.

MUMBAI: Vakrangee Software, a Mumbai-based IT firm in e-governance and document and printing management, has bagged a contract from the government of Rajasthan to set up common service centres ( CSCs) in the state.

The company expects to earn revenues of approximately Rs 750 crore from the project, of which Rs 180 crore will be from government to consumer e-commerce services and Rs 570 crore from business to consumer services.

The project, awarded by the department of IT and telecommuncation in the Rajasthan government, is one of the mission mode projects under the National E-governance Plan. Under the terms of contract, Vakrangee will set up 2571 CSCs and operate them in 14 districts in Rajasthan.

The scope of work also includes setting up a portal to deliver e-governance services. The duration of the contract is five years, the company said in a media statement.

For the twelve months to March 2012, Vakrangee had a net profit of Rs 67.51 crore on sales of Rs 1352 crore. Shares of the company were down 0.5% on the BSE to Rs 32.60 on Wednesday.
