US firm ThoughtWorks launches Chennai operations

CHENNAI: ThoughtWorks, a US based global Information Technology professional services firm announced the commencement of its Chennai operations here on Thursday.

Addressing a press conference, Dharmarajan Sitaraman, Managing Director, said the company would employ over 75 persons in the next eight months at the new development facility here, taking the total employee strength across the three facilities to more than 350 by the end of the year.

ThoughtWorks currently has 270 employees in India. He said the company was investing about $6,00,000 at the Chennai facility.

ThoughtWorks already has two facilities in India at Bangalore and Pune.
