TransWorks India to acquire Minacs Inc

Indian business outsourcing giant TransWorks Information Services has proposed to acquire Canadian call centre firm Minacs Worldwide Inc, a deal that has a total enterprise value of about $200 million.

TORONTO: Indian business outsourcing giant TransWorks Information Services has proposed to acquire Canadian call centre firm Minacs Worldwide Inc, a deal that has a total enterprise value of about $200 million.

A subsidiary of the Aditya Birla group, TransWorks is offering $5.50 per Minacs share in cash and Minacs' board of directors are urging shareholders to accept the offer, which is expected to expire in August.

An information circular will be mailed to investors before July 10, according to Minacs Chief Executive Officer Bruce Simmonds.

The Toronto-based firm, whose founder Elaine Minacs recently died of cancer, announced late Friday it had agreed to be acquired by a subsidiary of TransWorks. PTI COR RPB 06270936 DEL
