BENGALURU: Tech Mahindra said it was forming a joint venture with Midad Holdings’ unit Al Fozan Group to create a 100-seat delivery centre in Saudi Arabia.

The centre, which will be set up in Al Khobar, will serve the Saudi market and mainly employ locals.

“Al Fozan Group is a well-respected brand not just in the KSA but in the entire GCC and Middle East. Through our JV with the Group, we will work towards localizing technologies and building local services thus adding value to the local economy,” C P Gurnani, CEO of Tech Mahindra, said in a statement.

Tech Mahindra has been in the Saudi Arabian market since 2006 and already has about 1600 employees in the country.

Indian IT companies have been increasingly focusing on the Middle Eastern market as they look to offset slower growth in key regions like the US. Last month, Cognizant announced that it was expanding its headcount in Saudi Arabia from its current strength of 200.
