MUMBAI: Tata Consultancy Services, India’s largest IT services company, said it joined General Electric’s Digital Alliance Program and will use GE’s industrial internet platform to build more internet-of-things based solutions.

“We see great opportunities in leveraging our global industry expertise and assets, enriching GE’s Predix platform to drive favorable business outcomes for customers,”

Anupam Singhal, Vice President, Tata Consultancy Services, said in a statement.

TCS will train more than 1000 additional developers in the Predix platform in 2016. The company says it already has the largest pool of experts trained on the platform.

The Mumbai-headquartered company has already created solutions such as Satellite Image Analytics, Supply Chain Monitoring, Prognostic Maintenance, and Engine Telematics on the platform.

“The new alliance program is also designed to take us to the size and scale required to truly drive unprecedented growth, as well as certifying thousands of developers, implementers and consultants to give us the largest ecosystem of qualified technical capacity,” Denzil Samuels, Head of Global Channels and Alliances, GE Digital, said.
