TCS posts lowest attrition rate in 10 quarters

Tata Consultancy Services reported a 11.4% attrition rate for the quarter, its lowest in the past 10 quarters.

BANGALORE: India’s largest information technology company Tata Consultancy Services reported a 11.4% attrition rate for the quarter, its lowest in the past 10 quarters.

It also increased utilisation by 0.5%, excluding trainees, on a quarter-on-quarter basis, and by 0.3% including them. Its utilisation rate was 81.6%, excluding trainees, and 72.8% including them during the quarter.

TCS added about 18,654 employees during the quarter, taking its total head count to 2,54,076. Its rival Infosys added 2,610 people to take its total to 1,54,761 employees as of September 2012.

Infosys had announced a salary-hike of 6% this quarter, and an increase in the utilisation rate, including trainees, to about 69.6%.
