TCS moves into corporate HQ
IT services company Tata Consultancy Services on Tuesday inaugurated its corporate headquarter TCS House, a heritage structure restored at a cost of Rs 94 crore.
MUMBAI: IT services company Tata Consultancy Services on Tuesday inaugurated its corporate headquarter TCS House, a heritage structure restored at a cost of Rs 94 crore.
"It is a special moment that TCS has registered a definable corporate headquarters in Mumbai... the place where it all started," Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata said.
TCS House was built in 1922 and formerly known as Ralli House. Tata recalled that in his young days he worked in TCS for six months before moving on to other assignments.
"I grew up on the street across the TCS House... I feel nostalgic," he said.
Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, who inaugurated TCS House, appreciated the Tata Group for their contribution and to the state's development.
TCS CEO and Managing Director S Ramadorai said the state will have numerous opportunities for growth through integrated development of Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur corridor.
TCS has offices in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, a campus at Hinjewadi in Pune and will start construction of its BPO centre in Nagpur by the end of year, he said.
