TCS independent director Vijay Kelkar retires from the board

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said independent director Vijay Kelkar has stepped down from the board upon reaching the retirement age set by the IT services company.

MUMBAI: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said independent director Vijay Kelkar has stepped down from the board upon reaching the retirement age set by the IT services company.

Kelkar, a Padma Vibhushan award winner, is an Indian economist and academician. He has been on the board of TCS since 2010.

"The Board and management place on record their appreciation of the contribution made by Dr. Kelkar during his association with the Company," the company said in a regulatory filing on Monday on BSE.


Shares of the company closed up 0.21 percent at Rs. 2364.40 apiece on BSE.
