TCS chief sees faster growth led by new sectors
The IT sector has the potential to grow further as other industries are set to create new business models to help them, TCS chief said. Key facts on India's IT industry
Chandrasekaran said health, pharma, bank, insurance, automobile industries are growing rapidly and need innovative solutions for various problems. "They are looking for creative new business models as problems faced by them are immense. The growth prospects in IT industry is infinite," he said.
The TCS chief also stressed on the need to create more efficiency in the IT sector and bring superior technology. "We have to find solutions to complex problems in the health and education sectors. By investing in new technology research, we are only trying to expand the scope of the market," he said.
In this context, he pointed out that the economy had been growing over nine per cent, except during an 18 month period of global recession and that it would grow further and along with it the IT industry too in the coming decades.
He was speaking while participating at the 52nd College Day function at the Thiagarajar College of Engineering here.
