"It has been a full year after our leadership transition. I am happy to report that it has been a very stable and seamless experience for all our stakeholders,” Gopinathan said in his letter to shareholders.
Tata Consultancy Services CEO Rajesh Gopinathan earned over Rs 12 crore in FY18, nearly double what he earned in FY17 following his elevation to the top job, the company disclosed in its annual report.

Gopinathan’s compensation included Rs 1.02 crore in salary, Rs 60 lakhs in perquisites, Rs 10 crore in commission and Rs 86.8 lakhs in other allowances. In FY17, he took home Rs 6.2 crore.

TCS’ chief operating officer N Ganapathy Subramaniam earned over Rs 9 crore in FY18. In FY17, his compensation was Rs 6.15 crore.

The company said the average annual increase was around 5-6% in India in the year. It added the compensation levels for its senior executives were not comparable because of the role changes. Gopinathan and Subramaniam took over their roles in February 2017.

Even though TCS reported its slowest full-year in over a decade in FY18, the company won over $6 billion in large deals that is expected to boost revenue in the FY19. The company also announced a bonus issue, completed a share buy-back and announced its highest-ever full year dividend as it celebrated half a century of being in business.

“It has been a full year after our leadership transition. I am happy to report that it has been a very stable and seamless experience for all our stakeholders,” CEO Gopinathan said in his letter to shareholders.
