TCS appointed technology partner to Garmin-Cervelo
TCS' portfolio of sports partnerships includes tie-ups with Formula 1 racing team Ferrari and marathons in major cities worldwide including Boston, Chicago, Mumbai and New York.
TCS will put in place an expert team to work with Team Garmin-Cervelo and determine how technology can be better leveraged to enhance the performance of the team, working hand-in-hand with the team's internal Sport Science group, TCS said in a statement.
Team Garmin-Cervelo is a professional cycling team with 39 male and female riders from Europe, North America and Australia. It comprises many world champions, including Thor Hushovd and Emma Pooley, Tyler Farrar, Ryder Hesjedal and Tour de France veteran Christian Vande Velde.
"We are always looking for partners who share our commitment to using the best innovations in technology to ethically enhance performance. Hence, we are very excited to have TCS as our official consulting and IT technology partner," Slipstream Sports CEO Jonathan Vaughters said.
In the season 2010, TCS had previously served as the technology partner to the Cervelo Test Team (CTT).
