Sting operations put Nasscom on the edge

Sting operations have now put BPOs in the firing line. While in the past they have had little or no impact on the growth of the industry, they are damaging, to say the least.

NEW DELHI: Sting operations have now put BPOs in the firing line. While in the past they have had little or no impact on the growth of the industry, they are damaging, to say the least.

“Security is the top-most priority. India has established an excellent international reputation and under no circumstances, will we allow this to be compromised,” Nasscom said.

Nasscom has urged certain news channels to co-operate with authorities in the light of allegations that programmes have made about finding corrupt staff associated with call centres. A programme based on the same alleged criminals, as the ones in a news channel here, is to be aired by a UK-based broadcaster on October 5.
