Standard Chartered to expand Scope Intl operations
Standard Chartered is looking to expand its call centre operations in India through its outsourcing hub Scope International.
Further, it said, " Currently, both the centres handle in and out bound customer calls and Chennai handles collection related services for UAE. This will be expanded by March 2010. The staff strength in the call centre operations could double over the year from the current 1100 people. This number will rise in the medium term as the call centre services more markets across the Standard Chartered footprint", it said.
"The upscaling of Scope Internationals call centre operations will support the banks plan to increase customer engagement," Standard Chartered Bank regional chief executive (India & South Asia), Neeraj Swaroop said in the release.
Scope International CEO, Edwin Nevis said Scope International in India has ably supported the banks evolution into the worlds leading emerging markets. It is supporting the group with scale, efficiency and talent. The companys success has encouraged the Standard chartered group to progressively invest in adding capability and more markets. Today, Scope supports most of the 70 countries in the banks footprint.
