Globally there is a tremendous shortage of data scientists as data analytics takes off. According to research firm IDC, the global business analytics market generated $37.7 billion in 2013 and is estimated to grow to around $59.2 billion by 2018.

Together, we’re confident about setting an ambitious mission of creating a large talent pool of over 200,000 Data Scientists by 2020,” Ankur Arora, category head at Simplilearn, said in a statement.
Data scientists are greatly sought after by IT firms and receive the highest hikes, recruiters have said.
