Salil Parekh is Capgemini's India chairman
Capgemini, the Paris-based IT consulting & professional services major, has appointed Salil Parekh, CEO of its North American operations, as chairman of its India operations.

MUMBAI: Capgemini, the Paris-based IT consulting & professional services major, has appointed Salil Parekh, CEO of its North American operations, as chairman of its India operations.
r Parekh will focus on the group���s integration with Kanbay International, which was taken over by Capgemini in October 2006. As CEO of North American operations, Mr Parekh was responsible for the restructuring and turnaround of Capgemini���s business there.
Capgemini group CEO Paul Hermelin said Mr Parekh will be responsible for building the local consulting business as part of the group���s plan to establish India as the largest base for Capgemini.
Mr Parekh is a member of Capgemini���s global management board. He has been with the company for 14 years. Starting out with Ernst & Young in 1992, he was part of E&Y���s consulting business which was acquired by Capgemini in 2000.
