Persistent Systems announces e-commerce platform Klisma
The company claims the platform provides retailers with business intelligence and analytics, to predict consumer behaviour.
"Modern retail is not consumer focussed," Mr Aggarwal, chief customer experience officer, Klisma said. "It is more focussed towards push, rather than pull from the customers. Klisma aims to bring the power to the customers. We launched the pilot six months ago, and now have 240 retailers and over a lakh of customers," he said.
Persistent has not opened up the platform for the public, but will follow the model of tying up with corporates, IT companies in particular. "Employees in IT companies would like the convenience of online shopping, but cannot access general websites." Mr Aggarwal said. "With our tie-up with the companies, our platform can be accessed from within the company. This also acts like a soft perk for the employees. We will have relationship managers in all member companies to help employees in the shopping experience." Persistent is also scouting for a investors and partners to scale up the platform to other cities.
Klisma is the latest in what the company claims are its IP initiatives. Ram Pazhayannur, head of Persistent's IP business said, "We are aiming to break the relation between headcount and revenues. IP products, which bring higher returns will be our focus. For that, we plan to build products that fill the gaps in our existing customers' businesses." IP products contributed 8.8 percent of the company's revenues last year, he said.
Earlier the company had announced a software solution for faster integration of Skype video calling on embedded devices like connected TVs, IP set top boxes, mobile internet devices, media phones etc and OEM chipsets running on Android and Linux.
