Pegasystems working on more device solutions for 'internet of things' clients

HYDERABAD: With increasing number of manufacturers looking at internet of things (IoT) for maintenance and services, the customer service business by Pegasystems is increasingly working on solutions in the sector. The US-based company which employs 1025 people across its R&D centres in Hyderabad and Bangalore is devising solutions for Pegasystems' clients such as Philips as a part of its suite in customer services business.

"Customer support services contribute to around half our revenue in one form or other. One of the new sectors are manufacturers who work in the space of IoT using our services in the warranty to service machinery and consumer facing devices. We have utilised our core technology with process automation, tracking and fulfilment services effectively," said Alan Trefler, founder, chairman and CEo of Pegasystems during his visit to Hyderabad.

Apart from the emerging sectors, the company has also tied up with two engineering colleges in Hdyerabad - CBIT and Vasavi College of Engineering to train students in the third year of for certification as senior system architect by the time they graduate. "This student pool is mainly to serve our customers and partners and the model will be replicated in two colleges US in 2016," added Trefler.

Currently, there are about 15,000 trained and certified staff on its platform Pega which is used by companies such as JP Morgan Chase, bank of America and others. ""The demand for Pega trained personnel will increase by 20-30% every year and we will replicate the model globally," added trifler.
