Pay hike for Wipro techies from June 1
The company's IT services business added 2,248 people in fourth quarter of 2015-16, taking its headcount to 172,219 from 158,217 in like period of 2014-15.

Effective June 1, onsite employees will get wage hikes of an average 2 per cent.
"Wipro Ltd will announce a salary increase for eligible employees, effective June 1, 2016. The average salary hike will be 9.5 per cent for offshore employees and 2 per cent for onsite employees, respectively," Wipro said in a statement.
High performers will be rewarded with substantially higher increases in their compensation, it added.
At the end of March 31, 2016, the company had 1,72,912 employees on its payrolls.
Cross-city rival Infosys has given wage hikes of 6-12 per cent to its employees in India and of about 2 per cent to onsite workers, apart from offering equity to incentivise top performers.
India's largest software services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has also given 8-12 per cent hike to employees this year.
