Nihilent Technologies acquires a controlling stake in Intellect Bizware

PUNE: Pune-based Nihilent Technologies has acquired a controlling stake in Intellect Bizware, a specialist SAP consulting and services company. The company did not disclose the valuation for the 51 per cent stake acquired in the Mumbai based company. Set up in 2000, Nihilent is a global consulting solutions integration company with a presence primarily in Africa. LC Singh, vice chairman and CEO, Nihilent said, “This acquisition plugs a gap in our offerings and also broadens our geographical reach.

Further, the founders of Intellect Bizware will be joining the company, allowing us to laterally induct young talent into the business.”

Intellect is one of the largest domestic SAP practices in India with over 200 employees. Sahabat Kazi, co-founder and director, Intellect Bizware said, “We are confident of our expanded reach for our solutions, given Nihilent’s scale and global presence.”

This is Nihilent’s second acquisition in the last 12 months following the acquisition of US based business intelligence and analytics solution provider GNET, in October 2014.

Singh added that the company would be actively looking at acquisitions in the future to boost in presence, whether in specific segments or geographies. The company, which focuses on problem solving, has recently started operations in Australia and is looking at acquisitions as a means of expanding its presence in the country. At present, 75% of Nihilent’s revenues come from Africa, primarily South Africa. It caters to companies in sectors ranging from banking and financial services, media, retail and telecom among others. Headquartered in Pune, the company employs 1300 people, many of whom are located offshore.
