NASSCOM welcomes Karnataka's IT policy
CHENNAI: Welcoming Karnataka government's I4 IT policy, IT Body National Association of Software and Services Company ( Nasscom) today said it is aimed at making the state as preferred global investment destination.

"We welcome Karnataka government's I4 IT policy based on key pillars of IT, ITeS, Innovation and Incentives and appreciate their efforts to position Bangalore and Karnataka as preferred global investment destination," NASSCOM said in a statement.

The state government's focus on providing a fillip to innovation-based industries focused on start-ups, animation and graphics and other mobile-based creative areas will help Karnataka retain its leadership position in technology landscape, Nasscom said.

The five year extension from the applicability of Karnataka Industrial Employment (standing orders) Rules and declaring this sector as "essential services" will enable ease of doing business in the State, it said.

"The focus on start-ups and tier 2 cities is particularly welcome as it supports the wave of entrepreneurship and innovation in the country," it added.
