NASSCOM President Som Mittal on Thursday said it will be the responsibility of the government to extend time limit for Software Technology Park of India (STPI) in order to support the small and medium software enterprises.

HYDERABAD: NASSCOM President Som Mittal on Thursday said it will be the responsibility of the government to extend time limit for Software Technology Park of India (STPI) in order to support the small and medium software enterprises.

"I think government will realise it and give extension to STPI," Mittal told reporters after inaugurating the conference 'Animation & Gaming India 2008' at Hyderabad.

He said the apex body is in talks with the government, "...we have still a year time." On the outsourcing issue raked up by the newly elected US President Barack Obama, Mittal said, "The outsourcing (to India) has improved competitiveness of US companies." Hence, he opined that there may be much of policy change in the case of IT outsourcing.

He added since the Indian IT companies are integral part of US firms by way of partnerships and joint ventures, the jobs are not been moved out of America, he added.
