BENGALURU: Aricent and Nasscom Foundation today announced the launch of a CSR initiative under which 2,500 engineering undergraduates across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Delhi-NCR will be given training to upgrade their employability.

Nasscom Foundation along with Aricent has identified two training partners, iPRIMED and Global Talent Track, to carry out the on-campus skills development under the 'Aricent Employability Programme', Nasscom Foundation CEO Shrikant Sinha told reporters here.

The training will be delivered through a series of online and classroom sessions, including project work and learning events like project competitions, tech talks and industry leadership talks, among others, he said.

Programme culmination will include a joint certification from Nasscom SSC, Aricent, Training Partners and Nasscom Foundation, Sinha said.

The students will also be given placement assistance at the end of the course through regular job fairs and campus connect programmes conducted by Nasscom Foundation and the training partners, he said.

Delivered through India's leading vocational training providers and governed by Nasscom Foundation, the on-campus programme will equip students in select cities and colleges with skills in specialized areas in software development and testing, enabling them to find employment across the IT-BPM industry, Sinha said.

The programme will also train them in essentials such as oral and written communication, business etiquettes, problem solving, time management, customer orientation, interview skills and other soft skills required to enhance their employment opportunities, he added.

The candidates will be assessed on the NDSC-SSC Nasscom Qualification Parameters (QP) and certified on the relevant job role, enhancing the chances of employment, Sinha said.

"With the help of Nasscom Foundation, we intend to create a win-win situation for the young students and the industry," Aricent Chief Strategy Officer Payal Koul Mirakhur said.

The vocational training curriculum content will be developed by the training providers in collaboration with Aricent and will be aligned to Nasscom Sector Skills Council's (Nasscom SSC) QPs, Mirakhur said.
