Nandan Nilekani all praise for NR Narayana Murthy

The relationship with Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy was one of the main items discussed by the board recast on August 24, said Nandan Nilekani, the company’s new non-executive chairman.

Nilekani described the 71-year-old as "iconic". "(Murthy is) the ‘Father of Corporate Governance’ in India, such a great thinker who I personally respect because I began my career under him. I got my first job with him and he has made extraordinary contributions to India,” he said.

“There has been considerable discussion of the relationship between the Infosys’ board of directors and NR Narayana Murthy who established the culture and ethos of Infosys, especially its culture of adhering to high corporate governance standards,” said Nilekani, making at least five references to Murthy in the company’s call with Infosys’ international investors.
