MphasiS BFL rejigs top deck
MphasiS BFL, the Rs 900-crore IT services and BPO service provider in which Plano(Texas)-based EDS has assumed a majority stake has seen its board reshuffled.
Former Citibanker Jerry Rao will continue to be on the board and will be the CEO & MD of the company. The new board will have six representatives from EDS, while there will be four Indian board members apart from Mr Rao.
Jeroen Tas, director of MphasiS BFL who quit recently, will continue to be a permanent invitee to the board and will be a special advisor. Others who have quit include N Subramanian, a non-executive director and Ashish Dhawan of Chrys Capital.
While EDS has no intentions of changing the name of the Indian entity, sources said that a new tagline like “part/member of EDS” is likely to be admitted to reflect the new association.
“The change in the board composition is not something new. We would still continue to be a company with an Indian soul,” sources said. The combined headcount of EDS and MphasiS BFL is pegged at 14,000 persons. “All our hiring plans would continue. We are looking to hire about 1,200 persons for IT services, while for the BPO we are talking of adding around 2,000 to 2,500 persons,” sources said.
On a standalone basis EDS has operations in Chennai and Pune apart from Gurgaon.
