MUMBAI: Pestering telemarketing calls, important personal information being shared by financial companies with others, credit card cloning are just some of the perils of a weak IT security management all are grappling with today.

However, mere technology is insufficient to tackle data proliferation, says an IT expert.

"Instead of excessive banking on technology to curb data proliferation from telecommunication or financial institutions, even some simple checks at times can guard the company's critical infrastructure better," Rajendra Dhavale, Director, Technical Sales, CA India said.

"This problem arises in companies like banks and ilk having internet banking with innumerable internal and external users engaged in a myriad of financial activities at the same time," he said.
