NEW DELHI: Security solutions provider Kaspersky Lab has set up an advisory board comprising global experts like Howard Schmidt, Bruce Schneier and India's Latha Reddy to provide strategic insights into the global IT security market.

The Advisory Board, which brings together seven international experts in IT security, will provide practical guidance, insights and validation on the strategic plans and priority business development areas of the company, Kaspersky Lab said in a statement.

The newly-formed Advisory Board will hold its first meeting on February 11, 2014 in conjunction to the Moscow- headquartered firm's annual Security Analyst Summit.

The group will be chaired by Howard A Schmidt, the cyber adviser to US President Barack Obama and former President George Bush.

He will be joined by renowned cryptographer Bruce Schneier, Korea's Cyber Forensic Professional Association CEO Jae-Woo Lee and India's former Deputy National Security Adviser Latha Reddy.

Former BBC Governor Baroness Pauline Neville-Jones,German computer scientist Norbert Pohlmann and American cryptographer Whitfield Diffie will also join the body.

"This Board's willingness to provide strategic advice underlines Kaspersky's long-standing reputation as an IT security leader with transparent and open business operations," Schmidt said.
